This workshop was held for annual i.school students, and selected students from The Univ. of Tokyo and those from foreign universities.
The i.school’s third TISP module (i.school’s annual 6th workshop) “Social Innovation Workshop:Corporate Social Responsibility CSR of Japanese Companies in disaster-stricken areas” will be led by Peter McGrory, professor of Aalto University, Helsinki.
It’s now more than two years since the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred.
The respective phases and stages of recovery i.e., from crisis management, emergency restoration and reconstruction to that of revitalization and renewal of the Tohoku Region are clearly evident.
The current phase of redevelopment necessitates not only one-sided support by the public sector but also the active, autonomous and synchronized engagement of private sector companies, including their underlying business cycles and concerns.
In this workshop students will learn to apply the mindset, methodology and process of ‘Design Thinking’ through the principles of ‘Effectual Entrepreneurial Action’ within the concept and construct of CSR.
